Microtransit and NTD reporting

The FTA National Transit Database FAQ states that in most cases microtransit services are reported as Demand Response. Agencies still need a reporter, not a vendor slogan.

Overview

How the platform is used

If a US agency buys microtransit software, the reporting question appears immediately: which NTD mode is this? FTA's published FAQ is clear enough to quote. Most microtransit is Demand Response. Questions about a particular service go to the assigned NTD analyst.

National RTAP also warns that the NTD glossary definition of demand response is not identical to the ADA definition of a demand responsive system. Mixing those two sentences in a procurement is how arguments start.

Software should export unlinked passenger trips, vehicle hours and service dates. It should not auto-complete an NTD annual report. maas.maker follows that split.

One trip object

Web, app and telephone bookings share identifiers so a change on one channel updates the others.

Live assignment

Compatible trips share a vehicle inside published windows. Dispatchers keep a lock for exceptions.

Driver tools

Drivers see the next stop, rider notes and boarding status without a consumer super-app.

Operations reporting

Completed, cancelled and missed trips export for finance and compliance teams.

How a tenant goes live

Scope

We walk through service type, fleet, booking channels and the reports you already have to file.

Configure

Branding, stops, hours, vehicle classes and assignment rules land in one tenant.

Train

Dispatchers, drivers and coordinators practise on the live board before opening hours.

Go live

The first operating weeks are coached. Exceptions, not the happy path, are the real product.

What you actually buy

Modules you can combine. One tenant.

Start with booking, dispatch and the driver app. Add passenger apps, pooling rules, feeds and exports when the service needs them.

No.
